Willie Rathbone

Willie Rathbone, age 80, of Crouse, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2024, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wesley Ingle officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
Mr. Rathbone was born July 28, 1943, in Haywood County, to the late Charlie Lee Rathbone and Allie Mae Harris Rathbone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Willie Eugene Rathbone; three sisters; and one brother. He worked in furniture manufacturing for Burris Industries.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elsie Virginia Brown Rathbone of the home; sons, Michael Rathbone (Berta) of Lincolnton, and Daniel Lee Rathbone of New Jersey; daughters, Virginia Ann Rathbone of Grover, NC, Glenda Sue Rathbone of Lincolnton, and Brenda Gail Rathbone Cutler (Calvin) of Casar; eight grandchildren, Dalton Lee Rathbone, Justin Rathbone, Deborah Kennedy, Stephen Kennedy, Daniel Rathbone, Jr., Jacob Rathbone, K’Leigh Rathbone, and Jennifer Moses; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
