Carolyn Mae James Leonard

Carolyn Mae James Leonard, age 94, of Abernethy Laurels in Newton, NC, and formerly of Hoke Street in Lincolnton, NC, passed away Friday, December 01, 2023. Mrs. Leonard was born June 19, 1929, in Lincoln County, daughter of the late Thomas James, Jr. and Edna Jones James.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by her sons, Steve Leonard of Sherrills Ford, NC, and Andy Leonard (Rebekah) of Stanley, NC; daughter, Beth Wise (Don) of Vale, NC; grandchildren, Stacey Leonard Crouse (Jeffrey), Evan Wise, Jared Leonard, Charlie Leonard, and Ben Leonard; great-granddaughter, Gracie Crouse; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William G. “Bill” Leonard; and brothers, Harold, Tommy, and Don James.
A graveside service for Mrs. Leonard will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 09, 2023, in Hollybrook Cemetery of Lincolnton, NC, with Reverend Michael Baldonado officiating. The family will greet friends following the service by the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emanuel Reformed Church, P.O. Box 2058, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
