John Harvey Branton, Sr.

John Harvey Branton, Sr., age 80, of Orchard Road in Iron Station, died on Thursday, April 13, 2023.
His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2023, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kevin Pitts officiating. Burial will follow in the Iron Station Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
John was born July 21, 1942, in Swain County, to the late David Lester Branton and Mary Anna Friar Branton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Greene. He worked for the Timken Company for 25 years as a heat treat analyst.
He is survived by his wife, Jewell Fourshee Branton of the home; two sons, John Harvey Branton, Jr. (Teena) of Sherrills Ford, and Keith Branton (Iva) of Lincolnton; daughter, Christine Pitts (Kevin) of Iron Station; three sisters, Lucille Bolton of Iron Station, Mae Mitchamore of Kingswood, TX, and Ann Queen of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren, Julie Branton, Ethan Branton, Evan Branton, Elizabeth Branton, Robby Hughes, Jonathan Hughes, Jeremy Hughes, David Branton, and Kelly Baker; six great-grandchildren, Mariah Little, Naiomi Little, Lilly Hughes, Blaze Hughes, Nora Hughes, and Carrolline Hughes. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews and many other loving family members.
