Ann H. Cloninger
( March 26, 1938 - April 10, 2023 )
Ann H. Cloninger, age 85, of Denver, NC, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 in her home after a hard fought battle with cancer. 

Ann was born March 26, 1938, in Lincoln County, to the late Russell Thompson Hager and Margie Cashion Hager.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Cloninger, two daughters, Ginger Cloninger and Cindy Cloninger, and a sister, Jackie Price. 

She is survived by her son, Kent Cloninger (Liz) of Davidson, NC; daughter Karla Cloninger Duncan (Randy) of Davidson, NC; brother, Charles Hager (Hilda) of New London, NC; sister, Emily Murr of Wilmington, NC; two step-sisters, Sue Sherrill (Tony) of Denver, NC and Jane Thomas of Green Mountain, NC;  two granddaughters, Reagan Cloninger and Reese Cloninger; and many nieces and nephews.

Ann owned and operated her own business, Cloninger Trophies, for over 30 years.  She was a lifelong member of Denver United Methodist Church, served on numerous committees, taught Sunday school, and sang in the choir.  Ann loved volunteering in the community delivering Meals on Wheels and spreading joy with her delicious caramel cakes.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, April 13, 2023, in the Denver United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Autrey officiating.  Visitation in the Chapel will follow from 12:30 pm – 1:45 pm.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of Denver United Methodist Church.
