Columbus James Turner, Jr.

Columbus James Turner, Jr., age 90 of Westwood Lane in Wilkesboro and formerly of Lincolnton, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Lincolnton with The Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence, Rev. Phil Campbell and Rev. Patricia Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Turner was born November 30, 1931 in Lincoln County, to the late Columbus James Turner, Sr. and Kathleen Mullen Turner. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Turner was retired from Lincoln County Schools.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Ballard Turner of the home; one son, James Turner and wife Heather of Rock Hill, SC; one daughter, Rev. Patricia Turner of Wilkesboro; one granddaughter, Lizzy Turner of Rock Hill, SC.; brother-in-law, Dwight Ballard of Gastonia and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 Robin Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
