Kandi Kanette Carter
( March 24, 1963 - April 28, 2022 )
Kandi Kanette Carter, 59, of Lincolnton, NC died on April 28, 2022. Kandi was born in Charlotte, NC and graduated from Valleydale High School in 1981. She attended Mars Hill College and graduated from UNCC in 1986. Kandi was hostess at our dad and uncle’s restaurant, The Old Hickory House, and later was a medical transcriptionist at CMC Main for many years.

A celebration of Kandi’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Lincolnton with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:15 p.m. prior to the service.

Kandi loved animals, children, her family and above all, the Lord. She was a fervent and loyal supporter and defender of her family and for down trodden and marginalized people. She greatly enjoyed giving her time and talents to her church, First Baptist Lincolnton. Kandi loved people and shone His light to everyone that she met through her beautiful smile and sweet spirit. She felt a calling to volunteer at Atrium Lincolnton and people were touched by her presence and testimony. She loved to talk and this became even more of a ministry for her as her health declined and she was unable to get out and about.

If you knew Kandi well enough, you realized that she did not complain about or let her physical pain consume her. She would say she was FINE (faith in new experiences). She was a prayer warrior and is finally free of pain, reunited with family, and at home with our Savior. Well done, good and faithful servant…Matthew 25:21.

Kandi was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Bob Carter and her brother in law, Scott Miller. She leaves behind her sisters, Karen Miller (and Ron Tapley) and Kim Kirkland (and Bobby), brother, Kevin Carter, nieces and nephews: Caitlin Easterling (and Jonathan), Matt Kirkland, Luke Kirkland, Parris Carter, Pierce Carter, Paxton Carter, and Peylin Carter and her dog, Tab.

Memorials can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the backpack ministry of First Baptist Church Lincolnton, NC.
