Lora Jean Hamilton Welch

Lora Jean Hamilton Welch, age 77, of 938 Pettus Lane in Lincolnton, died on Friday, February 4, 2022.
Her funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Gainesville Baptist Church with Pastor Barry Devine officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Welch was born March 10, 1944, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Paul Webster Hamilton and Lora Bright Privette Hamilton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Harry Leonard Eugene Welch, Jr., and a brother Paul Hamilton, Jr. She was retired from Walmart. Jean’s favorite Bible verse was Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.
She is survived by three daughters, Penny Houser and Donna Knight (Zane), all of Lincolnton, and Trish Lovelace (Donna) of Shelby; sisters, Ellen Smith of Stanley, Ann Anthony (Robert) of Boiling Springs, and Marie Young (Sam) of Stanley; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Bumgarner (Andy), Spencer Poston (Vincent), John Daugherty (Megan), Heather Poston, Greg Houser, Beth Medlin (Josh), Tyler Poston, Nathan Houser, Amber Ellis (Stewart), and Katie Knight; fourteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two step-siblings; and half-sister Martha Ann Widner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
