Patsy Carolyn Lineberger Rainwater
( April 25, 1942 - January 29, 2022 )
Patsy Lineberger Rainwater finished her earthly race and moved into her heavenly mansion on January 29, 2022.  She was a wonderful woman who was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished.  She was an amazing wife, sister, aunt, and daughter and little ball of fire.

Pat’s story starts on April 25, 1942, child to Ronald and Bonnie Lineberger.  Pat was born in Iredell County. where she spent her childhood and graduated from Rock Springs High School where she met the love of her life, Pross Rainwater.  They were married on July 1, 1960 and spent many years in the Stanley area.

Pat was renowned for her tireless work in taking care of others at home and at work, always putting their needs ahead of her own.  From milking her sister’s cows before going to school to staying by Pross’ side through his battle with cancer, Pat never complained.

Pat read countless books while sitting on the sands of Myrtle Beach each summer.  She and Pross traveled to England and Israel during their 50 years together and she always returned with the best souvenirs. Pat was pretty famous for her potato salad that was requested for every family gathering.

Pat worked for Hub Uniform and retired from Julie’s in Charlotte where she was the true definition of a dedicated servant and model employee.  She was at everyone’s beckoning call, especially on pay day!  She helped get summer jobs for many nieces who lovingly envied her tailored  business suits and manicured nails.  As she arrived each day in her sporty silver Honda Prelude with a personalized license plate, they all were proud in knowing that she truly did “run the place.”

She loved her family and always picked out the most beautiful birthday cards with underlined greetings and beautiful penmanship.  These cards were treasured.

Even during her last years, Pat showed the same loving care for her fellow residents as she strolled down the hallways of Hickory Village Memory Care.  Although her mind was failing, her heart for others never wavered.

The family celebrates as Pat is now walking streets of gold with her precious mind and body fully restored.

Loved ones that cleared the path for Pat are her husband Columbus Prosser Rainwater, Father Ronald Alexander Lineberger, Mother Bonnie Lawing Lineberger, brothers William Alexander Lineberger and Timothy Wayne Lineberger.

Loved ones who will miss Pat until they meet again are her sisters Shelby Lineberger Sanders Munn (Lyles), Jill Lineberger Sides (Sankey); brothers Ronnie Dean Lineberger (Joy) and Jackie Ray Lineberger (Gail); and many nieces and nephews.

The family sends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hickory Village Memory Care and Hospice for their loving care shown to Pat during the final chapter of her life.  We are grateful for their kindness and patience dealing with the challenges of dementia and answering all our questions along the journey.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Westport Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Westport Baptist Church or to Hospice.
