Katie Celeste McConnell Helms

Katie Celeste McConnell Helms, age 88 of Denver, NC passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Brian Center in Lincolnton.
Mrs. Helms was born February 7, 1933 in Lincoln County. She was the daughter of the late Joel Willroe McConnell and Berlie McAlister McConnell. Her husband Joe Ben Helms preceded her in death, also one daughter, Judy L. Reese, brother, J. W. McConnell and sister, Shirley Canipe. Katie worked in manufacturing at Foam X.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton, NC. Rev. Edward Reese will officiate. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
She is survived by Three sons: Richard Helms of Crouse, NC, Timothy J. Helms of Newton, NC and Joel Helms of Lincolnton, NC; three daughters: Penny E. Hedrick of Denver, NC, Sandra Annis Combs of Maiden, NC and Barbara Warren of Statesville, NC ; one brother: David McConnell of Maiden, NC ; four sisters; Alene Elliott of Denver, NC, Joyce Alexander of Conover, NC, Patsy Sherrill of Maiden, NC and Pam Poole of Denver, NC; and numerous loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
