Cory Lee Smith

Cory Lee Smith, age 26, of 2965 Lawrence Drive in Claremont, NC passed away August 8, 2021. Cory was born on October 5th, 1994 in Gaston County to Crystal Glance Smith and the late Roger Dale Smith. He was a beloved son, brother and father.
Cory attended Lincoln County schools and graduated from West Lincoln High School in 2012. He attended Campbell University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Cory joined the United States Navy and was stationed in Bahrain where he served his country as a Master at Arms proudly. When he returned home from service, he worked at CommScope in Claremont as a line operator.
He is survived by his son, the light of his life, Zander Banks Smith of Claremont; his mother, Crystal Glance Smith of Lincolnton, NC; brothers, Jonathan Dale Smith and wife Maya of Lincolnton, NC, and twins Nathan Alan and Noah Alex Smith of Lincolnton, NC; and sister Chelsea Smith Hayes and husband Kevin Hayes of Morganton, NC; his adored nieces and nephews; Emma (8) and Atlas Hayes (1), and Malani (1) and Azari Smith (3 mos); and his grandmothers Libby Harper Glance of Lincolnton, and Carol Rogers Fields of Kings Mountain, NC.
He is proceeded in death by his father Roger Dale Smith, and his grandfather Roger Steven Glance.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m on Saturday, August 14, 2021, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Wesley Glance officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. A military graveside service will follow at West View Gardens in Bessemer City, NC.
