Constance Clanton
( July 21, 1943 - February 27, 2021 )
Constance “Connie” Clanton, age 77, of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina passed peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 6, 2021 in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincolnton, NC.  The body will lie in state from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Clanton was born in Houston, Texas to the late Cyrus Leon Rodrigue and Vietta Arcemont Rodrigue. She is survived by her husband, Carl F. Clanton of the home; three sons, James D. Hayes, Richard L. Hayes (Lisa), Shawn E. Hayes (Sandra); stepson Carl F. Clanton Jr. (Tammy), stepdaughter Ann Marie Sharpe; two brothers, Barry Rodrigue (Barbara) and John Rodrigue (Sarah); ten grandchildren, Shantel, Myriah, Travis, Austin, Samantha, Taylor, Sierra, Hannah, Levi, and Nick; and two great-grandchildren.

Connie was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and a child of God.  She raised three sons, volunteered at church, all while working at BellSouth/AT&T for many years.  Once her sons were grown, she and her husband fulfilled their dreams to move seaside and begin new adventures.

Her vivacious personality and magnetic smile captivated everyone she met.  She made the most of every opportunity to dance, hold a loved one’s hand, and to tell others she loved them.  In a world filled with challenges, she always spoke of forgiveness and offered kind words of support when they were much needed.  The love for her family and friends was always evident through her words and actions.  She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.  “How lucky were to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” WTP

Donations can be made to the ASPCA to honor Connie’s memory and her love for all animals, especially those in need.
