Shirley Holbrooks Fredell
( January 3, 1938 - November 24, 2020 )
Shirley Holbrooks Fredell, age 82, of 2248 Catawba Heights Road in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020, in the Sunrise Cemetery (formerly Hulls Grove North), with Rev. Bill Bigham officiating. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Boger City Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2020, at Warlick Funeral Home for those wishing to sign the guest register.
Shirley was born January 3, 1938, in Lincoln County, to the late Russell James Holbrooks and Lillian Black Holbrooks. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas Holbrooks, James “Buddy” Holbrooks, Robert Holbrooks. She worked as an inspector for Dallas Pillow.
She is survived by her husband, Marchel Fredell of the home; son, James Fredell, and wife Cecilia, of Lincolnton; stepson, Timothy Fredell, and wife Kristie, of Lincolnton; step-daughter, Deana Caudle, and husband Lance, of Austin, TX; five grandchildren; three sisters, Donnie Davis of Cherryville, Sabra Lynch of Crouse, and Starlene Southers of Cherryville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boger City Baptist Church Children’s Ministries, 2201 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
