Betty Jean Shuford Lawing

Betty Jean Shuford Lawing, age 92, of Abernethy Laurels in Newton, died on Sunday, November 22, 2020.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Ron Perry officiating. The family will greet friends graveside following the service.
Mrs. Lawing was born July 28, 1928, in Catawba County, to the late Thomas Jacob Shuford and Bertie Whitener Shuford. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Edward Lawing, and a daughter, Jill L. Kiser.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie L. Pratt, and husband Robert J., of Mooresville; a granddaughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Gail Troughton, and husband Timothy, of Marietta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Boger City United Methodist Church, 2320 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
