Charles Alden Cadle
( October 31, 1945 - August 23, 2020 )
Charles Alden Cadle, 74, of Iron Station, NC, passed from this life for a better one in the presence of the Lord following a period of illness at his home.  

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at New Day Ministries with Rev. Tim Chambers and Rev. Jeff Goudelock officiating.  The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service.  Burial will be private in Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2020, at the church.  

Born October 31, 1945, in Take-In  Hollow in Whitby, West Virginia, to the late William “Bill” and Nora Smith Cadle.  One of ten children, Mr. Cadle was a retired machinist of Daimler Trucks, Freightliner, Mt. Holly.  Also a member of local UAW 5285. He was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Don, Lonnie, and Danny; four sisters, Deloris Cadle, Betty Gill, Ruby Snow, and Patricia Pack; two nephews, Michael Cadle and Philip Cadle; one granddaughter, Kristi Turner; a great-granddaughter, Charlee West; two sons-in-law, Tim West, Sr. and Don Turner, Sr.; and also a great-nephew, Bobby Snow.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gloria Graham Cadle; two daughters, Victoria (Vicki) Cadle Turner and Jane (Wes) Wright, all of Iron Station; four grandsons, Robert Alden (Ashley) West of Iron Station, Tim West, Jr. of Stanley, NC, J.D. West of Walterboro, SC, and Don Turner (Chelsea) of Vale, NC; one granddaughter, Hannah (Jamie) West Hoover of Stanley, NC; one great-grandson, Aydyn Burnett of High Shoals, NC, and his Nana, Cindy Cartrette; five great-granddaughters, Bayleigh and MacKenzie Turner of Vale, Olivia West of Lincolnton, and Heidi and Elizabeth Hoover of Stanley, NC; sister-in-law, Betty (Danny) Barger of Lincolnton, NC; brother, Gary Cadle; sister, Hazel Brewer; numerous nieces; nephews; and friends whom he loved so much.

His loves of life was family, friends, horses, and bluegrass music.  He played with several local and professional groups,  Bill Monroe, Carl Story, Jim Jesse and the Sullivan Family.  He also played with a group from Ohio, “Sons of the Gospel” who was offered an appearance at the Grand Ole Opry.
