Doris Ruth Beacham Abernathy

Doris Ruth Beacham Abernathy, age 92, of Lincolnton, died on Thursday, April 30, 2020.
Mrs. Abernathy was born January 23, 1928, in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, to the late Charles and Margaret Packard Beacham. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Carroll C. Abernathy. Doris worked as a hospital switchboard operator.
She is survived by a son, David Abernathy (Linda) of Decatur, AL; three daughters, Linda Abernathy of Huntley, IL, Judith Abernathy of Lincolnton, NC, and Debra Roth (Carl) of Claremont, NC; a brother, Robert Beacham (Barbara) of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Eric Cardwell and Nathan Cardwell of Illinois, Kelly Roth and Sean Roth of North Carolina; and four great-grandchildren, Jack, Kaelyn, Jacob and Logan Cardwell, all of Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the National Audubon Society.
A private graveside service will be held at Hollybrook Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating.
