Barry Wayne Quickel
( July 25, 1956 - January 2, 2020 )
Barry Wayne Quickel, age 63, of Maple Brook Drive, Denver, NC passed away on January 2, 2020.

His funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2020 at Denver Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Griggs officiating.  His body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.  The family will receive friends following the service at the church from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Cherryville.

Mr. Quickel was born on July 25, 1956 and was the son of the late Edwin Lee Quickel and Mary Frances Rudisill Quickel. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edwin Stanley Quickel.  Prior to his retirement, Mr. Quickel worked for 34 years for Heafner Tire of Lincolnton and American Tire Distributors of Huntersville, NC where he was a sales and call center manager.  He was a member of Denver Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and an usher.

Mr. Quickel is survived by his wife, Barbara Garrison Quickel of the home; two daughters, Jill Loftin (Clark) of Denver and Megan Boger (Brian) of Charlotte and his four grandchildren, Dylan Loftin, Colton Loftin, Sawyer Boger and Reagan Boger who knew him as “Pop” and he was most proud of.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Denver Baptist Church Mission Fund, 6917 Forest Hills Drive, Denver, NC 28037.
