Rev. Daniel Louis Korzep
( June 9, 1950 - November 13, 2019 )
Reverend Daniel (Dan) Louis Korzep, age 69, of Lincolnton, went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, November 13, 2019.

His homegoing service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Harvest Presbyterian Church, 710 Lithia Inn Road, Lincolnton NC. with Rev. Dan King officiating.  Burial will follow in the Stanley, NC Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning one hour prior to the service, from 1:00-1:45 p.m.

Daniel was born June 9, 1950, in Berkeley, West Virginia, to the late Louis Edward Korzep and Annalee Ingram Korzep.  He is survived by his wife, Crystal Ann Rauer Korzep of the home; five children, Adam Morgan of Colorado, Luke Morgan of Michigan, Josiah Morgan of Florida, Seth Morgan of Massachusetts, and Lexin Graham of Lincolnton; and five grandchildren, Justice Morgan, Matthias Morgan, Averyanna Morgan, Marcus Morgan, and Anna Graham.

Dan grew up in a Christian home and came to the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of five. As a teenager, Dan’s main interests were football, music, and working with his father in the family business.  He went on to do his undergraduate work in sociology and instrumental music at Shepherd University.  While at college, Dan sensed the Lord’s calling to ministry, leading him to serve for several years on the staff at InterVarsity Christian Fellowship campus ministries.  He later earned a Master of Divinity degree from Reformed Episcopal Seminary in Philadelphia, Pa. and was currently working towards a doctorate in church history through North American Reformed Seminary.

Through his years in service to his Lord Jesus, Dan had also served Christ’s church as a church planter, lead pastor, and revitalization minister. In addition to serving as Harvest Church's pastor, he concurrently served as a corporate chaplain with Market Place Ministries and cared for pastors through Barnabas Ministries as a Regional Director.

Dan loved God’s word, pastoral ministry, and helping Christians discover and use their God- given abilities and talents. He wrote articles on church history and pastoral theology for the Banner of Truth website and was the author of the book How to Rescue Your Marriage.

He began his pastorate at Harvest Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Lincolnton, NC on December 23, 2018, which he served faithfully, wisely and diligently until the moment that his heavenly Father called him home.  When his physical heart stopped beating, he was working at the church with his Bible, his prayer list and his church vision outline that he had just presented to the discipleship study group the past Sunday.  Dan is still with us in spirit, as are we with him.  We trust and know that although Dan is “absent from the body he is present with the Lord.” (1 Cor. 5:8)
