Boyd Truett Dellinger

Boyd T. Dellinger, age 95, of Sherrills Ford, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at Carolina Caring in Sherrills Ford.
His funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Seagle and Rev. Jeff Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 until 3:15 p.m. at the church.
Boyd was born December 31, 1923, in Lincoln County, to the late Henry and Mary B. Dellinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dot S. Dellinger of 64 years; brothers, Webb, Kemp, Hughes, Page, and Blair Dellinger; and sister, Lois Dellinger. He was a faithful member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Maiden. He enjoyed playing golf. He was an Army Veteran in World War II stationed in Germany. He worked with his father and brothers at the family sawmilling business. He later went to work for Duke Power and retired from there.
Survivors include Jo Kelly, his sister-in-law of Denver, Robin Ramsey of Hickory, and Linda Bryson of Denver, who were his caregivers. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Peggy Ledford of Denver and Sophia Dellinger of Catawba; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Mountain View Baptist Church, Building Fund, 5045 E. Maiden Road, Maiden, NC 28650.
