Martha Craig Shelton
( June 10, 1926 - January 1, 2019 )
Mrs. Martha Craig Shelton, age 92, formerly of Rock Dam Road in Lincolnton, passed away peacefully at the home of her son Eddie on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at Warlick Funeral Home prior to processing to Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Shelton was born June 10, 1926 in Gaston County to the late Incie Eugene and Essie Rae Clemmer Craig. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Evan Boyd Shelton and one son, Evan Todd Shelton.
She is survived by two sons, Edwin Shelton “Eddie” and wife Beth of Lincolnton, Harry Shelton and wife Linda of Lincolnton; three daughters, Patsy Lyles and husband Gary of Oak Island, Cecelia Shelton and Tammy Hucks of Conway, SC; one sister, Becky Byrd of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Candra Marshall, Chris Shelton, Eddie Shelton, Jr., Heather Goldfuss, Matthew Lyles and Chrissy Wright; ten great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092 or to First Baptist Church, 201 Robin Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
