Mary Ester Porter Beam

Mrs. Mary Ester Porter Beam, age 91 of Dave Heavner Road in Crouse, died on Friday, December 28, 2018.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Highland Drive Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Luke Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Beam was born February 24, 1927 in Wilkes County to the late John and Carlie Moore Porter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Alton “Chick” Beam and her son-in-law, Larry Whitlock. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Blackburn and wife Hazel of Lincolnton, Michael David Blackburn and wife Kristy of Garden City; two daughters, Brenda Smith and husband Junior of Crouse and Norma Whitlock of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
