Ralph Taylor Conner
( April 16, 1923 - September 3, 2018 )
Ralph Taylor Conner, age 95, of East Dixon Street in Lincolnton, died on Monday, September 3, 2018.

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Wyant officiating.  Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Warlick Funeral Home.  

Ralph was born April 16, 1923 in Gaston County, to the late B.C. and Mae McGinnis Conner.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Hoyle Conner; a son, Ralph Conner, Jr; and two sisters, Bonnie Sigmon and Linda Byers.  Ralph served in the United States Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. After World War II, he graduated from Lincolnton High School, attended Catawba College, and later worked at Coble Dairy and as a golf pro at Lincolnton Country Club.  Ralph was active for many years in Lincolnton youth recreation and sports.

He is survived by two daughters, Laura Seagle of Blowing Rock and Donna Morris of Lincolnton; a sister, Peggy Heafner of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Emma Seagle of Atlanta, GA, Robert Seagle of Wilmington, NC, Travis Morris and Mallachite Conner, both of Lincolnton; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
