Betty Campbell Smith
( November 9, 1930 - June 28, 2018 )
Betty Campbell Smith, age 87, of the Brian Center in Lincolnton, and formerly of Terrace Place, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 28, 2018.

Her funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Dallas Church of God with Rev. D.R. Shortridge and Rev. Kenneth Rouse officiating.  Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday prior to the service at Dallas Church of God.  At all other times, the family will be at the home of LeAnn Sain.

Mrs. Smith was born November 9, 1930, in Cabarrus County, to the late Will and Carrie Bolick Campbell.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Boyd Smith; one half-brother, Maurice Campbell; three brothers, Glen Campbell, J.C. Campbell, Bobby Campbell; and two sisters, Pruella Goss and Virginia Goodman.  Mrs. Smith retired from J.P. Stevens after 28 years of service; however, she did much more in life than work in textiles.  She was a seamstress, a hairdresser, a floral designer and an amazing cook.  She excelled at everything she did, especially being a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Elaine Wilcox (Rodger), Kay Hamrick (Larry), Debbie Stroupe (Cliff), and LeAnn Sain (Fred), all of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren, Lindsay Rogers (David Liverman) and Justin Wilcox (Kaci), all of Gastonia, Beth Hilburn (Mickey) of McAdenville, Michael Hamrick (Darci) of Davidson, Sarah Bolynn (Todd) of Lowell, Meghan Hefner (Matthew) of Kings Mountain, Brennan Sain (Allison) and Cole Sain (Lindsey), all of Lincolnton; step-grandson, Ben Wilcox (Judy) of MO; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Hailey, Riley, Matthew, Brinkley, Cydney, Dalton, Lincoln, Elizabeth, Olivia, Carter, and Wyatt: and 4 step-great grandchildren, Eloise, Pete, Jasmine and Hailey; one sister-in-law, Mildred Campbell.
