Charles Reid Finger
( January 29, 1929 - April 17, 2018 )
Mr. Charles Reid Finger, age 89, of Highway 27 in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on April 19, 2018, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Finger was born on January 29, 1929, in Lincolnton, NC. He was preceded in death by parents, McKarl Grover "Mack" Finger and Addie Flora Shrum, brothers Cecil McKarl Finger and Gordon Stimpson Finger, and his beloved wife, Jessie Farmer Finger.
Mr. Finger was retired from a career in purchasing, working at The Bouligny Company in Charlotte, NC and Burris Industries in Lincolnton, NC for much of his career. More recently, he was known in the Lincolnton community for his part-time work with NAPA and Big A Auto Parts. Also, he was a veteran of the United States Army, having served stateside during the Korean Conflict.
He was an active, lifelong member of Asbury United Methodist Church where he enjoyed serving in many different ways. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who taught us all how to share our God-given gifts with those around us.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Rosenberg and husband, Mark, of Lincolnton, Lisa Vaughn, and husband, David, of Iron Station, and one grandson Jacob Reid Vaughn.
