Paulette Hager Welch
( December 23, 1945 - May 7, 2015 )
Paulette Hager Welch, 69, of Lowesville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2015.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2015, at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Earlynne Bartley officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. on Monday at Warlick Funeral Home.

She was born on December 23, 1945, to the late Paul C. Hager and D. Odell S. Hager of Lowesville, NC. She met her husband, Jackie R. Welch, of almost 48 years, in 1954. After graduation from Rock Springs High School, Paulette went to work at Bellsouth. She later worked at Duke Power and Vicki’s Floral Cottage where she decided to open her own flower shop next to Lowesville Café. She later retired from Lincoln County Schools.

She enjoyed westerns, floral design, going to the beach and mountains, and working outside. She was Band Booster President at East Lincoln High School, proud band parent, and even danced at the adult class at Rhonda’s School of Dance. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family she loved so much.

She suffered a long battle with cancer since 1998. She fought a strong fight. She never complained or asked anyone for anything. She stayed strong for the family. She is resting peacefully now. Full of life and smiling down from above. We will miss her deeply until we see her again.

She is survived by her husband, Jack R. Welch and Cocker Spaniel, Pepper, of the home; daughter Michele Welch Hayes of Rimer Town; son Mark B. Welch and wife Stephanie M. Welch of Denver; two grandsons Trey Hayes and wife Megan G. Hayes of Stanley and Tyler Hayes of Lebanon, KY; and two granddaughters Kiley and Kinsey Welch of Denver.

Donations may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County for their support and care in her final days, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the many friends and family who have been part of Paulette’s life throughout her years.
