Dorothy Neal Travis
( August 9, 1920 - March 7, 2015 )
Dorothy Neal Travis, age 94, of Lincolnton, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Boger City Baptist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Travis was born August 9, 1920, to the late Jake and Bessie Neal. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John E. Travis, daughter Faye Travis Couet, son Donald E. Travis, brothers Earl Neal, Wilbure Neal and wife Joy, and Edwin Neal, half-sister Vida Stevens, and half-brother Johnny Black.
She is survived by a son, Ronald E. Travis and wife Blonnie; a daughter, Glenda Travis Bortz and husband Harold; grandsons, David Angle and wife Wendy, Donald Angle, Scottie Angle and wife Stacy, Ronald “Petey” Travis, Jr.; granddaughter, Tina Houser; son-in-law, Roy Couet; sister-in-law, Myrtle Koone. Ramona Angle Payseur and husband Tommy; great-grandchildren, Jeff Angle, Kristen Howard and husband Tyler, Cole Angle, Christopher Angle, Duncan Angle, Devyn Travis, Nikie Travis, McKenna Houser, Payden Houser; one great-great-granddaughter, Natalie Howard; and a number of nieces and nephews on the Neal side and on the Travis side. She loved them all.
The family would like to thank all the staff and nurses at Brian Center.
