Verlin Oscar Black

Mr. Verlin Oscar Black, age 91, of 232 Hepzibah Church Road in Crouse, died on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.
His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015, at Anthony Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Bean officiating. Burial will follow in Cherryville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Black was born May 23, 1923, in Gaston county, to the late Oscar and Rosa Edith Anthony Black. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Rebecca Black. He retired from Hickory Springs Manufacturing.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda E. Rainey Black of the home.
