Ruby Elizabeth Moose Heafner

Ruby Elizabeth Moose Heafner, age 92, of 3002 Harmon Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, February 12, 2015.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Heafner was born October 14, 1922, in Catawba county, to the late Eddie Lawrence and Willie Ellen Huit Moose. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Banks Sidney Heafner, grandson Justin Michael, three brothers Earl Moose, Claude Moose, and Paul Edward Moose, and one sister Mary Sigmon. Her teaching career spanned 19 years. She was a member for 60 years at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where she also taught Sunday School for many years. Ruby also enjoyed canning and gardening.
She is survived by a son, Lawrence Heafner of Lincolnton; a daughter, Marie Michael and husband Weldon of Lincolnton; and two grandchildren, Nathan Michael and Sydney Michael of Des Moines, IA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, PO Box 43, Crouse, NC 28033.
