James Egbert Harris, Jr.

Mr. James “Bud” Egbert Harris, Jr., age 83, of Iron Station, died on Tuesday, February 10, 2015.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anita Sain officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Harris was born October 28, 1931, in Gaston county, to the late James Egbert Harris, Sr. and Eulalia Mae Neagle Harris. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers Jerry D. Harris and James Presley Harris, and two sisters Leona Harris Hagans and Mary Ida Harris. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and then later worked in textiles as a supervisor. “Bud” was a classic car enthusiast, was a member of Hornets Nest Region of Charlotte, enjoyed camping in his motor home, and was also a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.  

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Coffey Harris of the home; step-daughter, Aleta Fredell; and step-grandson, Noah Fredell-Stanley.
