Susan Mull Robinson, age 90, of 2054 Valley View Lane in Lincolnton, entered her heavenly home on Sunday, August 24, 2014.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Anthony Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dennis Bean and Rev. Kenneth Faulkenbury officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Burke Memorial Park in Morganton.

Mrs. Robinson was born January 5, 1924, in Burke county, to the late William Jones and Florence Whisnant Mull. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, seven sisters, one great-grandson, and one step-grandson. She was a minister’s wife and retired from the Burke County United Christian Shelter Home where in 13 years they had 400 foster children. Susan received her high school diploma at the age of 70, became an avid painter and candy maker after retirement, and also made her own greeting cards on her computer.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Rev. Earsel Lee Robinson of the home; two sons, Paul D. Robinson and wife Katherine of Augusta, GA and Rondell L. Robinson and wife Carolyn of Lincolnton; one daughter, Denise Hamrick and husband Ronnie of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

At Mrs. Robinson’s request, she asked that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Anthony Grove Baptist Church Mission Fund, 100 Anthony Grove Road, Crouse, NC 28033. She wanted to know that she could still have a part in continuing to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
