Lewis Bandy Keener

Lewis Bandy Keener, age 97, of Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Asbury Methodist Church with Rev. Natalie Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Keener was born February 25, 1926, in Lincoln County, to the late Osburn A. (O.A.) Keener and Julia Helderman Keener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Whiteside Keener. Lewis served in the United States Navy during World War II. He later worked in communications.
He is survived by a son, Mark Keener of Huntersville; daughter, Debbie Kirby (Jessie) of Denver; two grandsons, David Jessie Kirby (Tisha) of Morehead City, and Drew Keener of Durham; granddaughter, Abbey Keener(Roman Safiullin) of Beacon, NY; and three great-grandchildren, Rachel Kirby, Noah Kirby, and Claire Keener.
