Sharon Avery Sigmon

Sharon Avery Sigmon, age 74, of White Hall Lane in Lincolnton, NC, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Ms. Sigmon was born December 04, 1949, in Lincoln County, NC, daughter of the late Joseph Hall Avery, Sr. and Margaret Lemmond Avery.
Ms. Sigmon served as organist at Crouse United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She was a proud fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Ms. Sigmon is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deidra “Dede” Gallashaw (Anthony) of Lincolnton, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry Avery (Joan) of Lincolnton, NC, Joe Avery (Gena) of Crouse, NC, and Kenneth Avery (Pamela) of Gastonia, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Ms. Sigmon will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Crouse United Methodist Church, with Pastor Troy Howard officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Crouse United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 43, Crouse, NC 28033; or to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
