Gail Weaver Whitson

Gail Weaver Whitson, age 81, of Hazelwood Lane in Maiden, died on Friday, December 15, 2023.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Hester officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Whitson was born March 29, 1942, in Catawba County, to the late Norris and Irene Wilson Weaver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Billy Whitson. She worked in retail sales. She liked bird watching, flowers and plants, and cooking for her family, including her famous coconut cake. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Valerie Farabee (Jeffrey) of Hickory, and Amanda Whitson (Shane Church) of Lincolnton; two sisters, Sheilda Bowling of Hickory, and Teresa Bodford of Pacolet Mills, SC; six grandchildren, Mario, Javier, Maria, Zane, Dominic, and Declan; and seven great-grandchildren, Kristina, Nathan, Johnathan, Elijah, Lily, Forrest, and Aria.
