Posey Gene Whitesides

Posey Gene Whitesides, age 92, formerly of Heavner Road in Lincolnton, passed away in Loganville, Georgia, on Sunday, November 12, 2023.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Farnsworth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service.
Gene was born July 29, 1931, in Lincoln County, to the late Andy Gilbert Whitesides and Willie Tate Whitesides. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Parker; and a daughter, Debbie Alexander. He retired from Carolina Mills after 20+ years.
He is survived by granddaughters, Stephanie Whifield (Tim), and Audrey Alexander, all of Loganville, GA; grandson, Zack Alexander (Amanda) of Ft. Lawn, SC; three great-grandchildren, Riley Alexander, Aidan Alexander, and Heather Vose (Dustin); and two great-great-grandchildren, Lyanna Vose and Kodie Fouts.
