Robert Cline Baxter

Robert Cline Baxter, 85, of Lincoln County, NC, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2023.
Born July 16, 1938, in Lincoln County, NC, he was the son of the late Robert Cline Baxter and Geneva Beam Taylor.
Along with his brothers, Robert was co-owner of Turner-Baxter Painting Co. Following his retirement, he owned and operated a residential real estate company.
A true "Southern Gentleman", Robert was known for the manner in which he lived his life and conducted his businesses. Never known to grumble, he was always kind, courteous, honest, patient, and generous. He was genuinely concerned and cared for those he daily came in contact with.
Embracing the role of husband, father and grandfather, Robert's dedication and provision for his family never wavered. Some of his happiest moments were spent with family whether that was working, travelling, or mentoring his son and grandson.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Baxter; his son, Barrett Ashley Baxter and his grandson, Barrett Hayden Baxter.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Baxter; and four brothers, Keil Baxter, Gene Baxter, Ray Baxter and Hill Baxter.
Friends will gather Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Daniels Lutheran Church, 3170 Reepsville Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092. Funeral services are planned for 1:30 PM at the church with committal services and burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Gary Ward, Andy Baxter, Travis Baxter, Michael Richard, Hayden Baxter and Tommy Wyant.
