Mary Elizabeth Key Hart

Mary Elizabeth Key Hart, age 86, of Lincolnton, died on Thursday, October 19, 2023.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2024, at Sparks Freewill Baptist Church with Pastors Daniel Scarberry and Joshua Strausser officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Hart was born April 11, 1937, in Wilkes County, to the late William Floyd Key and Mary Jane Robert Key. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Wayne Hart; daughter, Lori Strausser; son, Timmy Hart; brothers, Paul Key, Bobby Key, and Oliver Key; sisters, Martha Brewer, Artie Wytt, and Linda Oliver. She worked as a spinner in textiles.
She is survived by a son, Dennis Hart of the home; daughter, Vickie Hamrick of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Lee Strausser of Claremont, Erika King (Jay) of Durham, Joshua Strausser (Natalie) of Rocky Mount, Haley Hart and Dylan Hart, both of Lincolnton; Summer Poole of Iredell Co., Heather Houston of Catawba, Jonathan Bradshaw of Lincolnton, and Mandy Baumgardner of Lincolnton; great-grandchildren, Emily Baumgardner, Thomas Baumgardner, Alice Baumgardner, Bentley Poole, Aubrey Poole, Christopher Poole, Lauryn King, Emryn Strausser; sister, Betty Thomas; brothers, Homer Key, Jay Key, and Gary Key; son-in-law, Eric Strausser; and special family friends, Della, Luke, Megan, and Tammy.
