Betty Bernice Lawing Withers, age 78, of Dogwood Flower Lane in Lincolnton, NC, passed away on Saturday, October 07, 2023. Mrs. Withers was born July 10, 1945, in Lincoln County, daughter of the late Lawrence and Edna Clemmer Lawing.
Mrs. Withers is survived by her daughter, Angela Withers (Colin Robinson) of the home; son, Scott Withers (Deborah) of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Meghan Withers of Charlotte, and Scott Withers, Jr. (Maddie Schenck) of Charlotte; nieces, Billie Dekle (Evan), and Darlene Reep (Charlie); and nephews, Larry Green and Donnie Sanborn.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Withers was preceded in death by her husband, James Withers; brothers, Butch and Bill; and sisters, Ethelene, Virginia, and Rachel.
A funeral service for Mrs. Withers will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Friendly Chapel Baptist Church, Maiden, NC, with Pastor Luke Connor and Pastor Jeff Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. at Friendly Chapel Baptist Church prior to the funeral service.
