Geraldine Lockman Scarborough

Geraldine Lockman Scarborough, age 83, of Lincolnton, died on Monday, August 14, 2023.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church, 493 Calvary Church Road in Lincolnton, with Pastor Bruce Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 2858 E. Highway 150 in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Geraldine was born October 6, 1939, in Gaston County, to the late James Hoyt Lockman and Mary Wilson Lockman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Lockman and Mack Lockman; and sister, Mary Ann Lockman. Geraldine retired from Lincoln County Social Services where she worked as a supervisor. She was a Rock Springs Fall Festival Queen. Her greatest loves were her family, church, and her husband, Coy. She was active in the nursing home ministry.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Coy W. Scarborough of the home; three sons, Kevin Hurt (Pam) , Michael Hurt, and Chris Hurt (Barbara); daughter, Donna Turner; grandchildren, Rebecca Daniels (Tyler), Victoria McCrea (Phillip), Josiah Hurt (Alyssa), Kandra Hurt, Colton Hurt, Kadin Hurt, Nate Hurt, and Abby Hurt; and great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Noah-Grace, Alistair, Paisley, Ellie, and Adeline.
Memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, 258 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054, or to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
