Shirley Ruth Bolick Harrill

Shirley Ruth Bolick Harrill, age 84, of Abernethy Laurels, and formerly of Lincolnton, died on Friday, August 11, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at The Church (formerly Oak Grove Baptist Church) with Rev. Joe Staley and Rev. Rick Crouse officiating.
Shirley was born February 4, 1939, in Catawba County, to the late William Giles Bolick and Ida Saxon Bumgardner Bolick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Franklin Harrill, and siblings, Jimmy Bolick, Lorene Bost, Odessa Brotherton,Elizabeth Keever, Coleen Moore, Billie Jean Crouse, Cozette Lafone and Tommy Bolick. Her last employer was the bakery at Ingles, where she “held court” while handing out bakery samples.
She is survived by a son, Don Franklin Harrill, Jr. of Lincolnton; granddaughter,Drennin Brook Harrill Matthews; great grand kids, James Toney Matthews III, William Joesph Matthews; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
