Dorothy Elizabeth Duncan Royster, age 87, of Crouse Road in Crouse, NC, passed away on Saturday, August 05, 2023. Mrs. Royster was born April 01, 1936, in Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Howard Whitford Duncan and Claudia Mae Ingle Duncan.
Mrs. Royster is survived by her husband, Tommy Leonard Royster of the home; daughter, Cynthia R. Hovis and significant other, Jeff Grigg, of Lincolnton, NC; son, Ronald Royster and wife, Jatana, of Harrisburg, NC; grandchildren, Sarah E. Hovis Sipe, Christopher C. Hovis, Aaron T. Royster, and Kyle C. Royster; great-grandchildren, Daniel Clay Sipe, Gracie Elizabeth Sipe, Nova Sky Hovis, Madelyn Rell Royster, and McKinley Morgan Royster; brother, Frank Duncan and wife, Peggy, of Iron Station, NC; and sisters, Margaret Young of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Jane Peeler and husband, Floyd, of Lincolnton, NC.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Royster was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Lottie Duncan; and brother-in-law, Charlie Young, Sr.
A funeral service for Mrs. Royster will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 07, 2023, at Bethphage Lutheran Church of Lincolnton, NC, with Rev. Tom Beers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. in the church Family Life Center prior to the funeral service.
