Linda Kay Bailey Gantt Farris Deon, age 73, of 3161 June Bug Road in Vale, died on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Community Grove Church, 4321 Reepsville Road in Vale, with Rev. Michael Cook officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
Linda was born June 7, 1950, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Edward Lee Bailey and Grace Lucille Govier Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Philip Deon, Sr.; sister-in-law Liz Bailey; brother Bill Bailey; father Elmer Perry Mollohan; and second husband Randy Farris.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy Gantt, Jr. of Connelly Springs, Eric Gantt (Judy) of Vale, Dena George (Bill) of FL, Frank Deon (Michelle) of Pumpkin Center, George Deon, Jr. (Marta) of Lincolnton, Scott Deon, Sr. of Lincolnton, Angela Hallman (Conrad) of Vale, Brian Gantt (Rhonda) of Vale, Michelle Lester (Dale) of Lincolnton, Melinda Deon of Cherryville; two brothers, James Mollohan and Edward Bailey, both of Ohio; thirty grandchildren; fifty-five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
