Aleta Belle Canipe McAlister

Aleta Belle Canipe McAlister, age 85 of Port St. Lucie, FL, and formerly of Lincolnton, NC, died on Sunday, June 25, 2023. Mrs. McAlister was born August 27, 1937, in Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Junious and Katie Belle Canipe.
Mrs. McAlister is survived by her husband of 56 years, Leonard McAlister of the home; stepson, Wayne McAlister and wife Ellen; granddaughters, Stacy Henschel and husband Ron, and Kelley Higney and husband Richard, all from Port St. Lucie, FL; grandson, Michael Sims and wife Christina of San Diego, CA; granddaughter, Shannon McAlister of San Diego, CA; step-daughter, Sheri McAlister Olson and husband Richard of Devils Lake, ND; grandsons, Anthony Phelan of Philadelphia, PA, and Derick Olson of Grand Forks, ND; granddaughter, Danielle Doctor and husband Avery of Fargo, ND; granddaughter, Ashley Young of Minnesota; 12 great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, 6 nieces, 5 nephews, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McAlister was preceded in death by three brothers, Fitzhue, Vernon, and Austin Canipe; and one sister, Willa Mae Fisher.
A funeral service for Mrs. McAlister will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Bethphage Lutheran Church, with Pastor Dale Pederson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethphage Lutheran Church.
