Betty Carolyn Elmore Davis

Betty Carolyn Elmore “Mama Bett” Davis, age 92 of Crouse passed away on Thursday, June, 22, 2023.
Her funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Crouse with Pastor Rick Sloop officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:15 p.m. prior to the service in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Building.
Mrs. Davis was born on July 24, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Claude Tillman and Macie Harrelson Elmore. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Louise Holt and her brothers, Paul Ray Elmore and Jim Elmore. Mrs. Davis was retired as a teaching assistant at Love Memorial Elementary and worked tirelessly with Christian Ministry of Lincoln County.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Davis, Sr. of the home; one daughter, Debbie Heafner (Willie) of Crouse; two sons, Ted Davis (Kim) of Troutman and Eddie Davis (Robin ) of Belmont; “special son”, Joe Avery (Gina) of Crouse; one brother, Frank Elmore of Lakeland, FL; four grandchildren, Luke Heafner (Elizabeth), Logan Heafner, Bryan Davis and Ash Davis; three great-grandchildren, Anita Heafner, Macy Ann Heafner and Jade Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 131, Crouse, NC 28033 or to Christian Ministry of Lincoln County, 207 South Poplar Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
