Dwight Theodore Shrum
( September 27, 1933 - June 19, 2023 )
Dwight Theodore Shrum, age 89, of Buffalo Shoals Road in Lincolnton, NC, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at The Greens of Lincolnton. Mr. Shrum was born September 27, 1933, in Lincoln County, a son of the late Miles S. Shrum and Lillie Bumgarner Shrum. He served proudly in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Shrum is survived by his wife, N. Louise Shrum; son, Burl Shrum and wife, Cindy, of Lincolnton; daughter, Elizabeth Snyder and husband, Don, of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Casey Snyder and wife, Bethany, and Jennifer Lee and husband, Chris; and great-grandchildren, Meredith Lee, Connor Lee, Jack Snyder, and Ben Snyder.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Shrum was preceded in death by his siblings, Marshall Shrum, David Shrum, Alma Fish, Benny Shrum, and Cecil Shrum.
A funeral service for Mr. Shrum will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at St. Matthews Reformed Church of Maiden, NC, with Reverend William Sowers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the church.
Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Reformed Church, 4575 Maiden Highway, Maiden, NC 28650.
