Martha Ann Featherstone Gilbert

Mrs. Martha Ann Featherstone Gilbert, age 83 of Cat Square Road in Vale passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Butch Ross and Rev. Nathan Grooms officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gilbert was born May 14, 1940 in Lincoln County to the late Raymond D. and Mallie Calloway Featherstone. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Featherstone and two sisters, Janelle Featherstone Messer and Joyce McManus. Mrs. Gilbert was a teacher at West Lincoln High School for over 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel Wayne Gilbert of the home; one son, Brad Gilbert of the home; two daughters, Crystal Hartsoe and husband Don of Lincolnton and Shannon Tally and husband Shon of Glade Valley, NC; one sister, Wanda Sorto of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Ashlyn Wadsworth and husband Morty and Katie Tally; one great grandson, Tripp Wadsworth.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the caregivers at the Addison and Hospice along with her sitter, Sherry Rhodes.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, North Carolina 28092.
