Danny Ray Smith

Danny Ray Smith, age 76, of Hestertown Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023.
His funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the Lincolnton Church of God with Rev. Donnie Wise and Rev. Ronald Martin officiating. Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, in the Pisgah United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 6:45 p.m. on Monday prior to the service at the church.
Danny was born December 19, 1946, in Lincoln County, to the late Herman Franklin Smith and Irene Self Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Smith. Danny served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and, on return home, worked as a licensed contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Jerri Smith of the home; children, Bunny Ingle (Mark), and Chad Smith (Natalie), all of Lincolnton, Natalie Wise (Donnie) of Mooresville, and Brad Smith of Charlotte; brother, Steve Franklin Smith of Charlotte; nine grandchildren, Heather, Cora, Seth, Megan, Breyden, Brooke, Bryce, Evan, Bailee, and Luke; and five great-grandchildren.
