Doris Rebecca Hoover Eaker

Doris Rebecca Hoover Eaker, age 91, of 124 Linwood Drive in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, May 4, 2023.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in the Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery with Rev. Tommy Lineberger officiating.
Mrs. Eaker was born August 29, 1931, in Lincoln County, to the late Pinkney Austin Hoover and Ila Barbara Reep Hoover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Eaker, Sr.; son, James “Jimmy” Eaker, Sr.; brothers, Pete, Clyde, Jim, Bill, and John Hoover; and sisters, Alene Armstrong and Evelyn Lackey.
Dot was a retired teacher that taught in the Kings Mountain and Lincoln County School System.
She is survived by a son, Lester Eaker,Jr. (Dyra); grandsons, Andrew Childs, Daniel Eaker (Maddie), and Austin Eaker; great-grandchild, Brady Childs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a heartfelt appreciation to Peak Resource Center in Cherryville for the wonderful care they provided.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 7, Vale, NC 28168.
