Edward Thomas Gillespie

Edward Thomas Gillespie, age 90, of 3081 Hazen Drive in Crouse, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church with Father David Miller officiating.
Mr. Gillespie was born August 18, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Edward A. Gillespie and Anne Payne Gillespie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Oglivie Gillespie; grandson, Nicholas Gillespie; and great-granddaughter, Maddie Melton. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict and would later go on to build a 40-year career in the petroleum industry.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Gillespie (Cindy) of Gastonia, and Richard Gillespie of Greensboro; daughters, Patty Gillespie of Greer, SC, and Mary Santiago (Ramon) of Crouse; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
