Jeanne Walkup Abernethy

Jeanne Walkup Abernethy, age 76 of Lincolnton, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022.
Her funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Monday, January 2, 2023 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Her body will lie in state at Warlick Funeral Home Monday, January, 2, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. for those who wish to pay their respects. The family will not be present.
Mrs. Abernethy was born January 19, 1946 in Mecklenburg County to the late Thomas “Fred” and Oma Long Walkup. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Walkup.
Survivors include her husband, J.E. Abernethy of the home; one son, Jason Abernethy and wife Kristi of Lincolnton; one sister, Elaine Sherrill of NC; two grandsons, Kyle Abernethy of Lincolnton, Landon Bullock of Denver; one granddaughter, Lola Bullock of Lincolnton.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
