Fred Wesley Doolittle

Fred Wesley Doolittle, age 78, of High Shoals, died on Monday, December 19, 2022.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2022, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen Foreman and Rev. Andy Nicholson officiating. Burial will follow in High Shoals Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Doolittle was born August 31, 1944, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Rhett Wesley Doolittle and Lillian Gertrude Moore Doolittle. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Melvin Doolittle, Ray Doolittle, and Benny Doolittle; and a sister, Cecile Crain. He worked in law enforcement for 40 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Freda Doolittle (Jerry Gilbert) of Vale, and Melisa Herron (Chris) of Gastonia; grandchildren, Kelly Willett (Cody) and Courtney Betts (Dylan), all of Gastonia, Jeremy Gilbert (Anna), and Chrissi Wilkerson (David); two great-grandchildren, Wiley Willett and Miles Betts; brother, Bobby Doolittle; and sister, Betty Jo Toney.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to 10-7 Ministries.
