Charles Esper Towery

Charles Esper Towery, age 85, of Bess Chapel Church Road in Cherryville, died on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Covenant Church With Rev. Mike Devine officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Towery was born January 2, 1937, in Lincoln County, to the late Marion Ausney Towery and Zelia Goins Towery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Towery, and a daughter, Sherri Towery. He worked as a switcher for Carolina Freight Carriers, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jarrett Towery, of the home; daughters, Carol Powell (Jeff), and Krista Devine (Mike); grandchildren, Misty Watt (Ryan), Jordyn Fletcher (Joe), Spencer Shelton (Hannah), Sydney Bass (Alex), Camryn Devine, and Caroline Powell; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his favorite dog, Charley.
